What Robert Redford is saying, is that James Mcavoy tends to overdo it. I desagree. I haven’t seen this movie yet, but I’d seen James Mcavoy in a couple of others – Atonement, Penelope, X-men, Macbeth, Inside I’m Dancing. And yes, he delivers a very emotional, even passionate performance. And this performance alone turnes some of those movies into a treat . Now add those piercing blue eyes… And decency… Makes one think of Paul Newman… Which is kind of interesting, because I read somewhere that Paul Newman was Robert Redford’s good friend, who even helped to start his career with movies like “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” and “Sting”. I wonder if Robert Redford felt any similarity…
