Posted by Jasmine with No Comments

Lack of James news but some new casting scoop for The Conspirator.

With “Conspirator,” Root joins James McAvoy and Robin Wright in the historical drama, where he’ll play a principal witness for the prosecution in the trail of a Confederate sympathizer who is tried as a conspirator in the Lincoln assassination.

Root, repped by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners, can currently be seen in “The Men Who Stare at Goats. ”

Join Back Stage for An Evening With “The Last Station.” The Los Angeles screening of “The Last Station,” will be held on Saturday, November 7, followed by a Q&A with the film’s star James McAvoy.

“The Last Station,” explores the final years of Russian author Leo Tolstoy’s life. While Tolstoy (Christopher Plummer) fights against illness, he must also rectify his personal beliefs concerning social reform with the reality of his own financial success. In the twilight of his life, he is surrounded by his wife Sofya (Helen Mirren), disciple Vladamir Cherkov (Paul Giamatti), and Valentin Bulgakov (James McAvoy), a young secretary brought into the Tolstoy circle.

McAvoy’s credits include “Wanted” and “The Last King of Scotland.” In 2007, his portrayal of Robbie Turner in “Atonement” garnered him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor.

The screening will take place at 6 p.m. at:
